Working with Julie was a wonderful journey together of collaborative design not only the pool conversion, but our entire backyard - patios, fire pit area, raised (nice and high) vegetable beds - we're not getting any younger! - hot tub area and overall planting re-design, all of which complement our Lafayette home's architectural style -

"In a word, Julie is fabulous. We went to her for help with a very loose idea of how to transform a large yard, including a challenging hillside that had seen far better days.

Also included are large redwood planter boxes for vegetables, meandering trails throughout, large mossy rocks, and a 'secret nook' area overlooking Lafayette Creek, which runs through the back of our property.
The back patio was expanded to accommodate outdoor entertainment, and subtle lighting was installed to add

“We live in drought-starved California and had an old leaky swimming pool we no longer used. We wanted to take out the pool and replace the space with drought tolerant plants and a high-quality drip irrigation system. Julie helped design the conversion of our pool into a 7500-gal subterranean cistern, the first in No. California. Rainwater from the roof is now plumbed to the storage system during winter and pumped through the irrigation system to water plants in the dry summer months.
Julie’s design also creatively incorporated additional elements we wanted including raised vegetable beds and a bocce ball court. Our backyard was completely transformed from a mostly concrete, little-used space into a beautiful, nature-filled oasis that we enjoy year-round.”
